Alessio Planeta, CEO and Technical Director of Planeta wineries, is a prominent figure in Italian winemaking. Born in Menfi (AG) on October 18, 2023, he was named “Winemaker of the Year” at the 24th Wine Star Awards, bringing Italy back to the top after sixteen years.
In addition to his role in the family business, Planeta is also Vice President of the Consorzio di Tutela Vini Doc Sicilia, which manages the Vigna del Gallo in Palermo’s Botanical Garden. His dedication and commitment have significantly contributed to the recognition and promotion of Sicilian wines internationally.
