Tenuta Villa Badia Piccola, located in the Municipality of Brescia within the Parco delle Colline Bresciane, is protected by the Ministry of Cultural and Environmental Heritage since 1992 as an area of notable landscape importance. The estate produces a barrel-aged Merlot blended with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, its label featuring “Medusa,” one of 19 artworks by Roberto Tanghetti crafted from reused horseshoes. With winemaking roots dating back to the early 19th century and earlier monastic cultivation in the 15th and 16th centuries it preserves history through its 17th-century cellar. In 2019, the vineyard was renewed where needed, while preserving vines over 70 years old to maintain the ampelographic memory of the site. Enclosed by ancient dry-stone walls reminiscent of the French clos, this vineyard-garden embodies rural, historical, and landscape heritage, following traditional methods and sustainable practices to honor its centuries-old viticultural legacy.
