We are thrilled to welcome the Historic Vineyard of the Eleftherios Venizelos Residence-Museum in Chania, Crete, as our newest member! This remarkable urban vineyard carries over a century of history within its vines, first planted by Venizelos’s father in the late 19th century, renewed by the statesman himself in 1927, and lovingly restored in 2003 with seven indigenous Greek varieties: Avgoulatos, Roditis, Fragola, Tsaousi of Constantinople, Muscat of Samos, Black Corinth (Karanti), and Romeiko. Under the technical oversight of viticultural consultant Giannis Galanis (MSc), the vineyard is today being carefully revitalized as a living heritage asset, a place where political history, agricultural tradition, and community memory grow side by side. We are proud to have them with us!
