Edition 2025
World Urban Vineyard Day 2025
When music met the vineyard
October 2025 brought urban vineyards to life around the world as World Urban Vineyard Day unfolded as a full month of celebration, connection, and creativity. Under the theme “Music in the Vineyard,” vineyards across continents opened their gates and transformed into stages where sound, wine, culture, and community came together.
Throughout the month, member vineyards hosted concerts, tastings, workshops, and cultural gatherings that highlighted the unique role urban viticulture plays in contemporary city life. Music became a shared language, creating moments of joy and togetherness among the vines.
From classical performances in historic landscapes to intimate healing music sessions and lively evenings filled with local rhythms, each city added its own voice to the celebration:
In Vienna, modern music echoed through the vineyards of Eichhorn Winery.
In Catania, sound and sensory experience blended on the slopes of Etna.
In Venice, the San Michele vineyard became a place of music, creativity, and hands-on workshops for all ages.
In Barcelona, young musicians guided audiences through an 18th-century musical journey among the vines.
In Adelaide, wine, live music, and street food created a vibrant urban wine festival atmosphere.
In Thessaloniki, Mediterranean melodies accompanied tastings in the city’s urban vineyard.
And in Brasilia, the gentle sounds of bossa nova and chorinho filled the air among the urban vines.
World Urban Vineyard Day 2025 once again showed how vineyards within cities are more than places of production. They are cultural spaces, meeting points, and living landscapes where tradition and contemporary life intertwine.
Thank you to all our members, artists, visitors, and communities who made this edition unforgettable. With each note played and each glass shared, urban vineyards reaffirmed their role as spaces of culture, sustainability, and connection.
We look forward to continuing this journey together in the next edition.
Edition 2024
On October 27, 2024, the International Urban Vineyard Day was celebrated for the first time, marking a meaningful milestone for our Association and for urban viticulture worldwide. This inaugural edition highlighted the growing presence of vineyards within cities and their contribution to more resilient, sustainable, and culturally rich urban landscapes.
To celebrate the day, members across the globe opened their urban vineyards to creativity. Photography, painting, and illustration contests took place in cities such as Venice, Barcelona, Catania, Los Angeles, Bergamo, and Thessaloniki, where artists interpreted the unique relationship between vines, city life, and community. The resulting works offer a powerful visual narrative of how vineyards continue to shape urban identity in unexpected and inspiring ways.
In other locations, the celebration unfolded on a more intimate scale. Urban vineyards became gathering spaces to welcome the autumn season, connect with local communities, and share stories that underline the historical, social, and cultural value of cultivating vines in the heart of the city.
As we look ahead, the Association is already preparing the second edition of the International Urban Vineyard Day, scheduled for October 2025. Building on the energy and creativity of its first year, the next edition promises new initiatives, broader participation, and an even stronger collective voice for urban vineyards around the world.
