Can Calopa de Dalt (L’Olivera)

Can Calopa de Dalt is the last remaining trace of Barcelona’s winemaking heritage. Located in the heart of the Collserola Natural Park, this 16th-century farmhouse preserves the city’s last productive vineyard. Here, L’Olivera produces organic wines and olive oils—the only ones born in the Catalan capital—while promoting a non-profit project for people at risk of social exclusion.

Building on a pioneering experience that began in Spain back in 1975, in 2010 the L’Olivera workers’ cooperative decided to bring together the best of two different worlds: that of rural Catalonia and that of peri-urban areas, bringing Barcelona’s last vineyard back to life.

Throughout these years, L’Olivera has preserved Barcelona’s agri-rural heritage by maintaining a historic farmhouse, cultivating grapes and vegetables, preserving olive trees, producing high-quality wines and oils, promoting local food and wine culture, and fighting for the environment and the protection of natural areas.

Engaged in hundreds of other agri-food projects, L’Olivera is at the forefront of promoting a better food system and sustainable food production, supporting both sustainable tourism and the local economy, while encouraging—last but not least—diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities in our society.

The result is a collection of organic, artisanal wines and olive oils, a wine shop, a farm, and a rural estate where you can taste the past—and savour the future.
