Forty Hall Vineyard

Forty Hall Vineyard is London’s only commercial-scale vineyard since the Middle Ages and is a pioneering social enterprise. The vineyard project is led by Emma Lundie with a small part-time team, but the vineyard is cared for year-round primarily by a community of over one hundred dedicated local volunteers, for whom the vineyard provides a refuge from the stressful pace of daily life.

The vineyard is also committed to sustainable farming practices and enhancing biodiversity. With the recent introduction of viticulture courses, it also offers people in and around London the opportunity to learn organic grape growing for wine production.

The certified organic wines produced from the grapes include an award-winning London Brut, made using the Traditional Method, just like champagne. All proceeds from wine sales, as well as from tours and other events, are directly reinvested to support the project for the benefit of the community.
