Carlos López is an Associate Professor at ISA (Instituto Superior de Agronomia), University of Lisbon, where he oversees the management of the Tapada de Ajuda vineyard, used for teaching, training, and research in viticulture.

An expert in precision viticulture, sustainability, and water resource management, he supervises applied research projects and graduate theses focused on innovative monitoring techniques and grape quality. Thanks in part to his work, the vineyard has become a key hub for agronomic education in Portugal.
