Vinhedo Lacustre
Brasília

The history of Vinhedo Lacustre began in 1996, when the owner's father bought the property because he liked the view of the city. That year, he planted a grape tree that is still on the property today. At that time, it was not possible to make good wines in Brasília, due to the extremely rainy summers.
At the beginning of the 2000s, a technique called "double pruning" emerged. The essence of which was to reverse the vine's natural cycle, leading it to produce in winter. Brasília's winter has very favorable characteristics: cold nights, mild days and no rain.
In 2010, excited about this new possibility, father and son joined forces to plant approximately 1 hectare of vineyard, where Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot grapes are grown, as well as a hybrid grape, developed in Brazil, called "Lorena". By that time, the production of grapes and wines had no commercial destination.
In 2020, a health problem prevented his father from continuing to take care of the property, when his son, Marcos Ritter, decided to follow his father's dream. In 2021, the first wine was produced under the supervision of a winemaker and in 2022, wine tourism visits began.
Today, Vinhedo Lacustre has a restaurant serving classic Italian cuisine, guided tastings, picnics and other attractions for wine lovers and is a major reference in wine tourism in the Brazilian capital.
